About me

I grew up in Tauranga, on the beautiful North Island of New Zealand. Near the ocean, with mountains and waterfalls just a ride away, it was the best place to be a kid.

Apart from rugby and maybe the cafeteria, I wasn't a great fan of school. Instead, most days I couldn't wait to get home and help my dad in his carpentry shop.

From as early as I can remember, I was fascinated by the way he could take rough old pieces of timber and lovingly transform them into something new and useful.

Over the years, Dad taught me everything he knew about wood and how it works. I learnt my trade from him and we worked together for 11 years until he retired.

In 2002 I moved to the UK, putting the skills and values he taught me to good use by setting up Kamura Carpentry.

Nowadays, I live in North London with my beautiful wife Paulina and a noisy parrot named Manu.

How I work

Over the years I've learnt communication and transparency are the keys to a successful project.

When you get in touch, I'll give you a call to get a brief outline of your project. We can then arrange a time to meet, either in person or via video call, whichever you prefer.

In our meeting we can dig deeper into your requirements and discuss the best way to bring your ideas to life.

"I can honestly say that Aymon is reliable, capable and honest!  He’ll quote you a fair price and won’t add on extras (unless you ask him to)  I love the quality of his work and his can-do attitude."

Caroline,N10

Afterwards, I'll go through my notes and draw up a detailed, itemised quotation so that you have a clear understanding of what the project will cost and my best estimate of how long it will take.

Once you've had time to digest my quotation, we can meet again so I can answer any questions you may have.

If you're happy, we can then agree a firm date for the works to start and I'll ask for a small deposit to get you booked in.

Areas covered

I'm based in Barnet and prefer to work in North East London, covering N4, N8, N22 and N10 postcodes including Harringay Ladder, Crouch End, Muswell Hill, Wood Green, Bounds Green and everywhere in between.

If you don't live any of these areas, please still get in touch. If it's an interesting project I may still be able to help.
